Insight Artwork

Insight is proud to be an active member of the community.  We regularly contribute to local community, cultural and sporting groups.  With the move into our new premises in Toowoomba, we now have the ability to directly support local artists.

Our vision is to "provide the walls" so our talented locals can display and potentially sell some of their art.  All proceeds go back to the artist.

Our first artist is Carol McCormack from Glenmorgan.  Carol is well known in the bush-art scene for her ability to capture the essence of inland Australia.  All the proceeds from the sale of Carol's works on display at Insight will go to the establishment of the Toowoomba Accommodation Lodge.  The Lodge will provide a home away from home for regional cancer patients, at no cost, while receiving treatment in Toowoomba.  More information on the lodge is available here.

Please drop into our office if you would like to view the art.

We would love to hear from you if you are an artist and would like to hang some of your masterpieces in either the Toowoomba or Goondiwindi offices.

Provided below are some of the works currently on display in our Toowoomba office.

Plenty River Corellas by Carol McCormack$1200

Available to view in our Toowoomba Office
Plenty River Corellas

The Plenty is one of those upside down rivers of the outback - the trees know water is never far from the surface even though it appears there's not a drop to drink. Corellas find easy pickings of fallen gumnuts - they are the bushman's alarm clock, but most bushmen hope the nearest noisy flock is further downstream.

Grey Range at Bunginderry by Carol McCormack$1950

Available to view in our Toowoomba Office
Grey Range at Bunginderry

In our travels we’ve followed the Grey Range along much of its length from Tibooburra to Blackall. I leave the detailed geography to the Tour Organiser, so I was surprised to find that Gerard’s Lookout at one end of Bunginderry is part of the same range, it was like visiting an old friend.

Cooper's Creek Dry Channels by Carol McCormack$650 AUD

Available to view in our Toowoomba Office
Cooper's Creek Dry Channels

The Cooper is one BIG creek. If explorer Sturt had seen how much water goes down these channels in the wet, he would have named it Cooper’s River, but he probably found it in a dry time as we did in 09. Turn your back to the waterhole and the view across the dry channels could be some barren desert with coolibah memories of better seasons.

Over Ormiston Way by Carol McCormack$420 AUD

Available to view in our Toowoomba Office
Over Ormiston Way

We saw Ormiston Gorge on the ground and from the air – no time to paint, so I made do with sunset views of the range surrounding Ormiston Pound from our Finke River camp near Mt Sonder.

Arkaroola - Swoop by Carol McCormack$1500 AUD

Available to view in our Toowoomba Office
Arkaroola - Swoop

This was one of those places I had to paint – no choice, just had to do it although it was physically difficult with a howling wind bringing squalls of freezing rain. If I stopped to think I was cold and uncomfortable so painted quickly. The rich colours suggest equally rich mineral deposits.

Roxborough Brolgas by Carol McCormack$750 AUD

Available to view in our Toowoomba office.
Roxborough Brolgas

We broke camp early from Lake Katherine on Roxborough Downs Station and became aware of movement against the background of gidgee and other acacia – dipping, dancing, stately gaited brolgas.

Barkly Bounty by Carol McCormack$750 AUD

Available to view in our Toowoomba Office
Barkly Bounty

Looking for inspiration on the Barkly Tableland I see wide open nothingness. Look further – there's grass, billions and billions of blades of grass. There are cattle, hundreds of thousands of head. There are termites and snakes and lizards and hopping mice and many more creatures I haven’t yet met --- and mirages --- that’s another series still in the pipeline!

From Flinders Ranges North by Carol McCormack$400 AUD

Available to view in our Toowoomba office.
From Flinders Ranges North

Farewelling the lofty Flinders we head downhill and north across the Eyre Basin up the Strzelecki Track. Yellow is usually limited on my palette but here more and more kept creeping in… the Tour Organiser raised an eyebrow and said ‘Uranium’.

Hot green and herons by Carol McCormack$420

Available to view at our Toowoomba office.
Hot green and herons

The green is varnished, hot and neon, I reach for my sunnies and the pot of iridescent green ink I thought I’d never use. White-necked Herons are often loners, but not here, there were at least six at one shallow waterhole near Blackall.
